Well I've put out a request for old computer magazines and books on programming. I'm looking for ZZap64, Crash, Amiga Format etc. So I guess there might be some interesting things for the gallery there.
I'm not sure, is there any sort of area you want to focus on? It might help to narrow things down a bit if there was more of an area you wanted to focus on?

I really just want to cover all images from the halcyon days of computing.
Not going into video files though - that is Emumovies forte.
Not sure about magazines. They are all available elswhere (though not brilliant scans).
Books is an idea, but only as a complete package of images in an archive perhaps?

Thanks for the great XEGS picture. That machine got lots of use when I was younger.
I'd love to see more Atari machines. Especially some STs like the 1040

I have got a couple of ST's and several more of the atari consoles and the lynx's somewhere - There is also a mega ST somewhere.
It is just a case of finding them and getting them done..
Hopefully they will be in the next batch

I have a Mattel Aquarius (worst keyboard ever) that I can take a picture of, if you'd like.

That would be great!
I am a little picky about the quality of the pictures (but that is the reason for this site
), there is a topic on that - "How should I prepare photos for the gallery?". I dont want to sound ungreatful, I really don't, So please see what you can come up with! These can be either posted to the main Gallery or you can create a personal gallery to maintain yourself. This is a feature that I must admit that I would like to see used!
I do not own an Aquarius, though I do keep bidding on them when I can - just keep loosing them

I have a developers NTSC Playstation 1 I could take some pictures of, it's the blue unrestricted PSX looking machine with external PSU. Also an Amstrad 464 Plus.
I don't know if you want this also, even though it is a custom machine I did for myself so didn't exist, but I have a MK2 C64S but re-done in the original brown breadbin colour with black and orange keyboard.

I did that sort of thing with the c64 and also put a vic20 in a c64 case.
A high res pic of the cpc and ps1 would be great if you have the time!

No problem, I have a C128 too complete and boxed too I could snap too. Only the keys have yellowed but the rest of it is lovely so a bit of photoshopping may be in order on the keyboard! Must try the H202 trick on the keys one day if I can find it in liquid form
I've just got a 7mp Panasonic Lumix. Lovely for a compact digital camera.

the only thing you need worry about is the iso and light levels. Keep the iso as LOW as you can and the light levels as bright as possible. The higher the iso, the more noise. Digitals do not have true iso, they use amplification to 'simulate' higher iso's - this leads to noise, saddly!
I use a Pentax 14.6 mp Dslr - it is my little toy
I take all pictures in manual mode with no auto settings at all. Gives ya full control. I also take pics in RAW for full editing fun!

There is some good stuff here, quite a few Crash magazine scans :-
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/covertapes.html
I remember a magazine called Input; if anyone has any scans of this that would be great
I have one retro book called, The Beginner's Computer Handbook (understanding & programming the micro) by (Judy Tatchell and Bill Bennett).
If anyone is in interested, I will be happy to scan it.
