True : the game's great !
But, I don't know if you have noticed I'm a big shmup fan
, this isn't really my stuff (Warhawk was "fast & furious", here you walk, you stop, you wait, you jump...) and I find it "smashing my DS on the wall" hard !!! It took me nearly (quite ashamed to say it !)
40 minutes
to get through level 1 !!! Fortunately levels 2 & 3 are much easier (5 minutes both...) but now I'm stuck on level 4 (how the hell can you get up that screen ?!?) !!!
Bonus stages with explanations and then trivias are a wonderful idea (but I've just seen one so far : Horace).
Do you plan to open here a topic for Hi-Scores ? (main game and bonus stages and everything I still haven't seen)

Thanks for the words.. At least you 'like' the game even though it is not your thing.
I had not planned on a highscore page, but perhaps this could be added to the main page?
Over at World of the Rat they are doing a week long playoff and posting the scores,

Quite an intersting thread stretching 10 pages at the moment!! LOL

I do ! Always found those games fun... (and after you put my name in the hi-score table of Warhawk, the least I can do is play your new game !)
(and my girlfriend likes it as well : 5/6 years ago, 've spent time finishing the CPC version 'cause she felt some nostalgia)
But I'm still waiting for a Warhawk II...

yes level 1 can been touch to start well until you learn it. The main problem is the top witch. The best is (for me) wait the top right to flew just past you to the right and then jump to the convover and then roof and directly jump to the right side.
Another tip you can stay on the roof by pressing the other way to avoid Willy to fall to the left and wait the top witch to past. I guess its mostly here most people fail. So level is not hard when learn the controls correctly.

Hello all, saw request for feedback.
Very classy production, love many elements of this (corny and cute title screen, music,
mix of more modern and original-style graphics, not easy, cover art, trivia notes, more).
Never played MM back in the day (not enough cash for more than 1 system, went for the
C64) but did play Pitfall and Miner 2049er (both on ROM cart.), similar stuff on the cover
tapes later on. For those who haven't seen it, 2049er was one of those games where stepping
on *every tile* was a condition for finishing the level and had a load of tricks: teleporters,
cannon to load your character into, elevators, conveyors and all.
Finding this and the Warhawk remake is like getting a very good issue of Zzap! or C Power
for a present, so thanks.
Haven't tried the det. game remake yet but did play and enjoy the original.
Currently stuck on Wareshouse, Jump for Joy, Christmas, and I Had a Hunch. Worked out
everything but the last problems in Jump and Hunch, getting somewhere with Warehouse,
but a bit pessimistic about Christmas (not asking for help yet).
Everything but Christmas now.
Possibly my best times:
28.795 for Mummy Daddy,
14.561
11.484 for Horace, 34.822 for The Warehouse.

Hmm, seems I shouldn't have mentioned poor time on The Warehouse (seemed pretty fast as the first time through the level), got many more respectable ones, but no record (no wonder if the times were from people concentrating on it over two weeks).
Checked the Rodent, not registered yet, interesting site but regurgitating '80s system wars might be just a tad out of date.
Surprised to see nobody pushing the Atari 800 or BBC Micro, both very nice machines for the time (never bought either but checked both out, friend had the Atari).

Some of those times look like they would be impossible on the actual hardware, emulator quirks perhaps?

They are all possible on hardware - They are nigh on impossible to beat.

Never thought yours wasn't, Spacefractal, did try to get closer but couldn't beat my own best time (.8xx of a s off yours). Some of the others though, did work out the fastest paths and try to eliminate wasted fractions (button down at the start and all) and still 12 s (
) off on Mine Shaft (probably the worst of the ones where I did try). Oh well, got some respectable ones and might top one some time. Still enjoying the game even after finishing it.
Now to meet the boss on level 3 of Warhawk without blowing up in a microsecond ...
