Title: What map editor to use in making DS maps for homebrew?
Post by: relminator on February 01, 2011, 05:48:24 am
I've looked at mappy and it works well and imports a DS friendly array.  Pern runs really slow on my other laptop.

What did you guys use to make maps in Warhawk and manic Miner?

We didn't use any map editor for Warhawk or MMLL. They were just images that used grit to convert them into map data. Attached is an example of Warhawk's first level.

For our latest game for the iPhone we use Tiled (http://www.mapeditor.org/).

The link was http://www.coranac.com/category/proj/grit/ but it doesn't seem to be working. Perhaps try the internet archives?

Just background maps... a map of 8x8 pixel tiles.
