Title: The Incident
Post by: headkaze on September 02, 2010, 10:42:52 am
Found this cool retro style game which was released recently.

Have you say I'm a big fan of their webpage (http://www.bigbucketsoftware.com/theincident/) too. They have merch for sale too. Might have to look into something like that for J*****l ;)

Also check out the interview (http://thebox.maxvoltar.com/ep1-nevenmrgan) with one of the guys involved.

Apparently they are doing very well on the AppStore.

How many copies sold? Is there a way to know?

he he, look like they have been inspirated from the (specific) ending of this cartoon (I saw many times when I was child): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uJOh5TKP2A

Look like fun game too, so I might brought it sooner or later and like that pixelated style (like Hook).

Could been fun we create such a retro pixel style (even been limited to a contain 8bit or 16bit palette) as the next game to create something a little bit smaller game like the current one (which is still secret other than the teaser).....

They did very well in their first week and I noticed yesterday they were on "New and Noteworthy" so should be doing very well I expect.

Incidently the programmer is located here in Perth and is doing a talk in West Perth on the 10th September. Would be great if I can make it down there.

Just read in my local newspaper that Matt Comi (author of "The Incident") estimates the game has been downloaded 100,000 times since August. I think the price has gone down, but at it's current price of $2.49 that would mean they've made $249,000, take away Apple's 30%, and they've made about $174,300 profit in 6 months.
