Title: This has been bothering me...
Post by: yellowblanka on December 02, 2009, 07:37:07 am
What movie is stage 6 (the slaughterhouse level) of Willywood referencing? Or is it simply a slaughterhouse level...I just have this feeling there's a movie reference I'm missing, lol. Thanks in advance for enlightening me, and kudos on a fantastic game - real professional polish and gameplay - one of the most addictive games I have played as well (I never played the original Manic Miner, however I did play "Miner 2049er" on the old TI-99 4a, and it has some similarities).

The level you mention is 'Hellraiser' (the 5th level I believe)

Thanks for the kind words, it was a pleasure to code and more so if people are enjoying it :)

Playing through worked out all the movie themes but one: 'Mr. Perkins' (stage 3). Also can't work out who the corresponding character is in the game-completed picture. Is it from Pirates of the Carib., Donkey Kong, or something else?OK, checked and found out for myself, for others (like me) who never saw that movie because it appeared to be terrible, it is 'The Goonies'.

Ah, Goonies is a classic... Right up there with "The Godfather"... :)
