uh? ???

Starting to miss some of the daily banter on here myself.. guess everyone's taking a well earned break after MMLL...
Okay how about some download stats then?
Total downloads since release:
ManicMinerLL.zip 1266
ManicMinerLL_FAT.zip 745
Total 2011

Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you I've been downloading the zip some 1100 times by mistake :-[
No, I'm joking :D

and... mightbeen more have been downloade from other places :-D, who known? (even you might not want that, but that can been happens to borrow the files).
I gonna think if I should create a remake for DS (not sure to start still, have not looked on it), I want to create H.E.R.O to that format too.
-
:D
That would be me and my rapiddownloader 2000!!
nah, jk.
Oughta be more than that though but from all the other places where the files are hosted.
I'm pretty sure that you can triple those numbers by now.
-
it does not really matter to me (though the download count is GREAT)..
If 5 people really enjoy it, my job is done!
I believe we have made the best and most original (is that possible) MM remake in recent years!
The only thing I think is a shame is that it is restricted to the small audience that is the DS homebrew community :(
Oh well.. Perhaps after I learn C I may do a pc version? (either that or play with GL Basic).. C learning comes first though!
-
You got me to get a Nintendo DS due this game :-D. It was also fun to do the music for that remake, and there is emulator that works with the game... We should link to the emulator as well. Hover its a bit sad the is a known music issue with warhawk with AceCard II. I could do a XM version of the main theme (other is not really required, since I dident here any issues) using for in game... but not sure about memory I can use. but I think I need to do somethin with the Lobo game first.
Personly I do BlitzMax as well Sokky do. Its a nice language and simple to do. PC versionen can easly been done on that language, but the graphics resolution is somewhere higher, but could do something a "emulator" like screen in fullscreen.
But it better to do a new game now or a spinoff to Manic Miner of somewhere?

AMEN!
All you guys out there..THINK NEW dammit, enough with miners and stuff (except for horace, that one is always welcome and everyone should do a horace game!!). :D

Seeing no-one appears to be doing a Horace game,
Perhaps that is an option...
(ps.. Already have the jump curve working - hmm..)
-
There you go. 8)
-
Ah, forgot to say but since you're thinking aloud( ::)) there, GLBasic supports thy iPhone as well so you can compile the stuff on PC and send it over to yer mac to generate the final build. Nifty, eh?
-
Oh... Does it? LOL
I cannot use that for iphone dev though, (even though I have compiled gl in xcode).. because i NEED to learn C..
(but, it is nice to play with in the mean-time)
-
CCCCCCCCCC....well, I'm pretty sure until Monday you'll sort it out.
-
GlBasic force is it very portable to variered of systems, so you can design the next game to PC as well IPhone or or such (or other portable devices, I which if the language got ported to DS too). Then I would have a change to test it as long I dosent own a IPod touch or IPhone, that dosent happens this year. I never did the C or C++ way and begain basic programemring instead. BlitzMax is for me a really nice and easy language.

But...my Horace jumps too. I've even got the enertia in - although it's not perfect yet.
-
But, my enertia starts with an i!
LOL...
I am not doing Horace, just fiddling with little bits of code and trying to think of something to do that will help me toward iPhone C stuff!..
So, don't worry! :)
-
< -_- >
-
LOL!!!

"Horace for President"
I have a feeling you may be slightly bored!! LOL :D
-
Haha, no, just been working on level 10 for my little Horace distraction. Been outside this morning and froze my ass (still got fever leftovers so not cool) so decided to stick with warm home and gently spam the board while working a bit.
-
Hmmmm..... Spam!

-
Will this madness ever end?
:D
-
_(..)_
-
Look like its a Horace game using the engine from the bonus level for a little game? :-D.
I thinking mightbeen some a minicart racing/roller caster game in 2d?
-
But, my enertia starts with an i!
Whoops. Sorry. I blame my own language...
...either that or I'm nowhere with the inertia and thinking of my recent enema istead. :D

Too bad Halloween is over. I just had the PERFECT idea for a pumpkin carving. :D
-

Hah, racing game would be quite cool, despite the fact that Horace has no arms to operate the vehicle but oh, well. :D

But... how would you keep the eyes in place? LOL
(sorry, I am bored and being facetious)
-
What do you mean? You just cut them out man! :D
-
ok, you cut a hole for the body? then the eyes have to be pumpkin, or..
You cut away all the pumpkin and just leave the horace shaped bit?
Right... That's it.. I am gonna blow a balloon up and try cutting that the same way and see what happens..
( :) )
-

But, he is rather well endowed! Not sure about how he could grip the stearing wheel, but... honking the horn should not present a problem!
-
Look like I need to update the Manic Miner DS to the newest version :-D. I got a new record that diddent take as a record first time, but got actually beat it again (to take a picture for confirm). Have posted the new hiscore on the Stuart homepage.... I guess that bug have been fixed and have slipped in the release....
-
The truth is, you did not beat it... The timer is not updated (oops) if you fail to get a record and this means that it looks like you beat a record by 100th of a second when you did not..
And yes, it is fixed :)
-

The opposite, you cut around the body so the eyes can be carved out.
There is nothing this master carver can't cut!
;D

You have superhuman carving powers..
Witchcraft i tell ya!
-
If no platform game want to been next game, how about Law of the West to C64 or something like this? Its A bit oversight adventure like game, but really cool western game and could suit handhelds as well PC very good.
This tune is also very great and cute and could used as a title tune: http://www.remix64.com/tune_413100.html
Mightbeen a day I do that as my next remake (not sure this month I start on anything than music, I still missing music to Lobo, Sorry), but Im are not as good for the graphics art, and the C64 version have excellent graphicsart for the game. Who knowns, it could been fun.
-

Super Shaman Carver SKills! Honestly, every Halloween I try to run away from the carving obligation thingie but they get me every time. :'(
-
Is that because someone tied your shoeloaces together?
-
No i ran barefoot!
Could be the nails.
-
Found it! It was buried in encyclopedia Horatia (circa 1374) under a ton of dust and a handful of spiders.
Hope this helps out with inertia and jumping problems by better understanding the inner workings of this peculiar creature.
-
That's it...
Everything is so much clearer now!
;D
-
I knew it would be! All the bribing money spent on Benedictine monks was not in vain!
-
After spending about 2 hours on the phone with a monk who has vowed to silence, I didn't learn much. :/
However, he faxed me a little excerpt from the book of bestiary from the 14th century, written and illustrated by the blind scribe. There I found this (looks genuine to me)~ ???
-
I think you have discovered something very interesting..
:D
-
Yep, I've discovered this new coffee from Senegal, dark roast but blood red when prepared. Yumyum.
